Motorola today launched the Moto G in Mexico, and the company wanted to do something to spice things up for folks down in that region. They’re calling it the Turbo Edition, and it gets a couple of big upgrades over the original.
For starters, the 5-inch display is being bumped from 720p resolution up to 1080p. That might not sound like much up against all these UHD displays floating around, but it’s a pretty big deal for an affordable phone like the Moto G (and 1080p still looks fantastic at that screen size, to boot).
Motorola is also upping the ante on the chipset, with the Snapdragon 410 transforming into a Snapdragon 615, which has proven to be a pretty capable mid-range chipset. Here’s how the full list looks:
The device is set to launch in Mexico November 13th and will be around $283. Not a bad deal for a rather capable device from a very reputable manufacturer. Unfortunately Motorola doesn’t seem to be planning to launch this thing anywhere else, so you may have to resort to importing if you want one.
