Just when we thought the do-it-all utility app Pushbullet couldn’t get any better, the app is getting a little extra help thanks to improvements in Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Announced today on the Pushbullet blog, the team announced that their app has officially been updated for Marshmallow and will now ask for permission when accessing device functions (aka runtime permissions). Whether Pushbullet wants to access your SMS, Contacts, Phone, and Storage, you now have to give the app permission before doing so.
And when it comes to sharing — the app’s bread and butter — that’s been drastically improved as well thanks to Marshmallow’s Direct Share feature. Okay, maybe not drastically, but it does eliminate a step in the share process which helps streamline things a bit. With Direct Share, Pushbullet can now show your most recent devices right there from the share menu — no need for digging through the app list to find the app.
We know these updates may sound small on paper, but they’re big additions if you you’re one of the frequent Pushbullet users. The update is available right now on Google Play for the few with Android 6.0 Marshmallow running on their devices.
