Doze is quickly becoming one of our favorite new features on the Nexus 6P. Introduced in Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Doze is essentially a deep sleep mode that activates after you haven’t touched your touched or moved your phone for extended amount of time. This not only provides added battery savings during times when you’re sleeping or not glued to your phone, but it could help in situations where you lost the phone and need help locating it.
The only thing we would have liked Google to include was the ability to actually tweak how quickly Doze activates, but — as so often is the case — the Android modding community is here to help. Posted onto XDA, Doze Settings Editor allows rooted users to edit the parameters surrounding Doze and how quickly it fires up on your Marshmallow device.
There’s quite a few parameters too, giving you plenty of ways to tweak the settings to your liking. With the latest version of the app allowing for custom profiles, you can save your favorite settings for specific times of day, events, or things of that nature.
As we mentioned before, you will need root to pull this off so not everyone with a Nexus 6P or 5X need apply. You can find Doze Settings Editor via the link below.
