ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser launches in the US for $199.99 today

ASUS today announced the ZenFone 2 Laser. As its name implies, it slots very comfortable into the ZenFone 2 family with the device sharing much of the same looks and specs as the original. Where the original ZenFone 2 opted for Intel’s silicon, the ZenFone 2 Laser goes for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615, which is a very fine mid-range chipset. It also gets 3GB of RAM, Gorilla Glass 4, dual LTE SIM slots and a removable battery.

Everything else about the ZenFone 2 Laser is in line with the original, including a 5.5-inch full-HD display, 13 megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus, 5 megapixel front camera, 3,000mAh battery,  16GB or 32GB of storage with microSD expansion and Android 5.0 Lollipop.

ASUS says the new device will be available as soon as this month, with Newegg slated to sell the thing for $199.99 (16GB) and $249.99 (32GB).
