Apple releases another Android app, this time for Beats Pill+ speakers

Apple is on a roll. In September, the folks at Cupertino released an Android app called “Move to iOS.” It turns out Apple didn’t actually make that app, so we kept waiting to see what an Apple Android app would look like. We got our first glimpse at what that might look like earlier this week, but now an entirely different Apple app has landed in the Play Store.

Beats Pill+ is a companion app for the, you guessed it, Beats Pill+ speaker. The app allows users to name the speaker, control who’s playing music, link a pair of speakers for stereo sound, and monitor battery life. It’s a well-designed app, but there is nothing inherently “Android” about it. In fact, it’s a straight up clone of the iOS counterpart. It looks like we’ll have to wait for the Apple Music app before we can judge Apple’s ability to create a native-feeling Android application.
