Hands-on: Motorola Droid Maxx 2 [VIDEO]

Not everyone is willing (or even able) to drop 6 bills on a brand new smartphone, no matter how premium it is. Verizon knows this and it’s one of the reason they decided to bring over the Moto X Play to their network as the all new Motorola Droid Maxx 2, a lower cost option in the carrier’s long running Droid lineup.

We know, a lower price typically brings with it a low-end smartphone that gives up most the amenities you expect from more higher-end devices. But the Motorola Droid Maxx 2 is different. Not only does the Maxx 2 have the same 21MP camera and 2-day battery life as the Droid Turbo 2, it’s also about half the price. Coming in at about $16 per month with installment payments, you can add the phone to any one of Verizon’s new data plans — S M L XL — and it wont break the bank.

Other Maxx 2 specs include a 3,630 mAh battery Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM, 5.5-inch 1080p display, and a micro SD card slot for expandable memory. The phone also features removable back covers, of which there will be more than a few colors available for added customization. You can watch our own Rob Jackson fiddle around with the Droid Maxx 2 in our hands-on video above.
