Remember when Alphabet was announced and Google had the coolest domain ever for it? Something about abc.xyz (go on, click it) rolls off the tongue, but Google didn’t want to rest there.
They’ve registered abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz.com. Phew, that’s a mouthful. Here’s Google’s explanation, according to ReCode:
We realized we missed a few letters in abc.xyz, so we’re just being thorough.
The domain doesn’t actually point to anything yet, and we’d be surprised if it were ever used for anything more than a glorified redirect. But it sure is cool, playful and its existence is proof positive that Alphabet (Google?) is the same playful company they’ve always been.
