HTC One A9 could be coming to Sprint

We are expecting HTC to announce an interesting mid-range option in the HTC One A9 for their October 20th online-only shindig, but more details are leaking out ahead of schedule. A recent FCC visit gives us an idea of where this thing is headed.

The FCC actually verified 2 different units recently: one which appears to have your typical global radios — including support for AT&T and T-Mobile here in the United States — and one that has radios specifically meant for Sprint. That doesn’t totally confirm the former two companies will offer it, but it sounds like a sure bet for the Now Network.

This phone isn’t meant to outdo something like the HTC One M9, but there’s reason to take notice. It’s a decent-sounding phone specs-wise, but it’s the interesting iPhone-like build and design that has everyone buzzing. Here’s what’s going on under the hood:

Not great, but not bad, either. HTC’s also banking on calling this the first Android 6.0 Marshmallow phone, so there’s that. If HTC prices this thing right it could help them secure a few more sales, but we’re not sure it’d be enough to bring them out of the dumps they’ve been in as of late. Full details arrive October 20th.
