LG could be one of the first out the gate with Marshmallow for the G3 and G4

In case you haven’t heard, the LG G4 is my new favorite Android device. Aside from offering one of the best mobile cameras around, micro SD card slot, and removable battery (I can’t begin to tell you how convenient this is), the phone — along with its older sibling, the LG G3 — could be some of the first out the gate with an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Discovered by GforGames, LG already has their support docs ready for the devices (although still unavailable for viewing at the moment). This is only on the company’s Korean support page, mind you. Even though they were one of the first to push Lollipop to the LG G3 last year, it could be some time before they work deals with US carriers and push out the update stateside.

Recently HTC announced that they were committed to bringing the big software update — which named Lollipop bug fixes as one of their big new features — to the One M8 and M9, followed closely by Motorola only earlier today. Now, LG hasn’t said as much, but rumor has it LG skipped updating their flagships to Android 5.1.1 in order to buckle down on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. We like the sound of that.
