LG has an October 1st announcement to make, and they’re not shy about teasing it. Pictured above, you can see that the teaser starts off by showing a female with the most weird bangs we’ve ever seen. Things get even weirder when half of her hair gets cut off to reveal her left eye.
It may seem cryptic at first, but if you’ve paid attention to the rumor mill in recent weeks you’ll notice that they’re teasing the LG V10. The device is coming with a secondary ticker-like display, and the latest leaked render shows exactly what that’ll look like:
As you can see, the display seems to stack on top of the main display, but only enjoys partial width — hence, bangs being cut only halfway in the teaser above. The space to the left of it houses the camera and front-facing flash.
The display itself shows a small selection of app shortcuts in this render, though there’s a possibility it could be used for more, such as quick notifications. We’re finding it really hard to consider it anything more than a novel gimmick, though, especially considering what the secondary display on the Samsung Continuum turned out to be.
That said, the LG V10 is still expected to be a powerhouse of a device in other areas, so it may still be worth attention on those merits. Here’s what you can expect for specs:
Not a bad option for a phablet, even if that secondary display turns out to be less exciting than LG’s making it out to be. October 1st is the day all the details arrive so stay tuned.
