Xiaomi Mi 4c is official: Snapdragon 808, USB Type C, 5-inch 1080p display, $200 price tag [HOLY CRAP]

Xiaomi isn’t a household name in the US (and likely wont be anytime soon), but that doesn’t mean they haven’t taken the Asian market by storm. Making a name for themselves by offering up powerful, yet reasonably priced Android handsets running their in-house UI, they’ve built a sort of cult following in their homeland of China.

While it’s just about time for a follow up to last year’s Xiaomi Mi 4 (current rumors point the possibility of their being a regular Xiaomi Mi 5 and larger “Plus” version) the Chinese manufacture instead chose to announce a smaller version called the Xiaomi Mi 4c.

Comparisons with Apple devices are sure to be made (Xiaomi’s attempts can be seen as somewhat blatant), but the Mi 4c could be the best phone we’ve ever seen for the price, coming in at just $200 for the base model. The best part is there’s an even better equipped device with more RAM and internal storage — not for $50 extra dollars as we typically see from bigger OEMs — but only $35 more. Here’s what it comes equipped with and tell me you wouldn’t pick one of these up if it launched here in the states:

Xiaomi Mi 4c specs

As is the norm for Xiaomi, the Mi 4c comes in a myriad of color options like white, black, blue, pink, and yellow. The Xiaomi Mi 4c will be sold direct on Mi.com and officially launches September 23rd in China. For those who want a powerful Android they can easily use with one hand, I think Xiaomi really nailed this one.
