New LG V10 render shows off its odd secondary display, looks like all around terrible idea
After rumors first surfaced that LG was planning to launch a new device this year — the LG V10 — with a second “auxiliary” display, we’ll admit we were a bit skeptical. The logical assumption was that LG would use it as a sort of ticker, reading out messages, news, or other notifications. Looks like that might not be the case at all.
Italian blog LG.HDBlog.it have obtained what appears to our clearest look at the device yet. Unlike previous leaks, this high quality product render actually shows that secondary display in action, occupied with a row of simple shortcut icons — not a ticker. Now, that doesn’t mean this will be its only function. LG typically offers plenty of options when it comes to their software features. This secondary display should be no exception.
It’s just that a row of app shortcuts seems like the worst possible thing they could have done with it, especially when it’s placed so high up on the phone’s main display. Good luck trying to reach that with 1-handed use. Then again, we can’t say we had much hope for this phone’s design to begin with.
The leaked render is also accompanied by a few specs which are likely just the ones @evleaks revealed earlier this month. Let’s take a look:

- 16MP rear/5MP front facing camera
It’s still unclear if the LG V10 is the same device as the rumored LG G4 Pro that we’ve been hearing about as of late. It’s definitely large enough to be considered a phablet and specs seem well-rounded enough. We’ll likely learn more come October 1st for LG’s event in New York.
