Verizon’s 1st Gen Moto X is finally getting Lollipop
Many major carriers have already gotten the rollout of Android 5.1 Lollipop to the 1st Gen Moto X going, but Verizon has been the slowpoke in this particular race. Thankfully that is no longer the case, as the company has finally started soak tests for the update.
A soak test is a limited rollout period for folks who are part of Motorola’s Feedback Network, and is designed to ensure folks get the update smooth and without any issues. If nothing looks bad then the update is greenlit for all owners of the devices. This process typically only takes a few days, though there’s always a chance for there to be last minute hiccups which cause the general rollout to be delayed.
Those in the test can look forward to a 712MB update file, and you’ll be on version 222.26.7 by the end of it all. Stay on the lookout for it if you’re in the feedback group, and we’ll be updating the rest of you the moment Motorola greenlights it for the masses.
