Oddly enough until now, Google+ didn’t take advantage of Android’s sharing intent. Previously, if you wanted to share a Google+ post with another platform or application, you had to go through a roundabout method. A Copy link menu item existed in the application overflow menu, where Share link now exists. Copy link, would, well, copy the link to the Google+ to the clipboard. To then share the G+ post to another Android app, you had to then open whichever app you wanted to share the link with and long press into a text input field and select paste. Thankfully, our struggle is now over. A proper Android share intent is now triggered, allowing you to easily select an application when selecting the Share link menu item. What a time to be alive.
We’ve heard that the newly updated sharing option isn’t live for everyone, so that means this must be a server side roll-out. If you don’t have the option yet, keep checking back. It’s bound to show up soon.
