BLU Pure XL 7

BLU announces upcoming Pure XL with 6-inch 2K display, 64GB of storage, 3,500mAh battery for only $350

As summer draws to a close, a new crop of Android devices is preparing to hit the market and make our lives a little more complicated. But it’s not just the bigger name OEMs that are introducing compelling new devices. Miami, Florida-based BLU is ready to take the Samsungs, LGs and Motorolas, head-on with a new flagship that’s big on specs, but low on price. It’s a new smartphone they’re calling the BLU Pure XL and it’s not the typical low to mid-range devices we’re used to seeing from the company.

At $350, the Pure XL somehow manages to offer up specs that can compete with other similarly priced handsets, with BLU talking up the device’s photo taking abilities. It’s quite the looker too, with an aluminum frame and large 6-inch AMOLED display (weird capacitive button placement though). Here’s the quick spec sheet rundown:

Going back to that 24MP camera, BLU says it features “advanced second-generation Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), an f/2.0 aperture, 1/2.3 inch sensor with Sapphire + 6P lens, real-time HDR, True Dual Tone LED Flash, and Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) with Fast Focus between 0.08-0.2 seconds.” There’s also a dedicated camera button for those who are into that sorta thing.

The BLU Pure XL will launch on September 29th, where it will be sold exclusively on Amazon for $350 and comes in either gold or grey color options. Like the rest of BLU’s devices, the Pure XL will come unlocked and supports both AT&T and T-Mobile networks here in the US.
