We’ve been hearing a ton about the Nexus 5 in recent days. Just yesterday, it was reported that Google would look to announce both the Nexus 5 and Huawei’s 5.7-inch Nexus on September 29th.
Some interesting new information has come to light today. Android Authority reports that Google is throwing around the name “Nexus 5X” internally and that the name may stick by the time it comes to market. None of that is certain, though — it’s said Google hasn’t 100% settled on using it as a retail name just yet.
We wouldn’t be surprised if their marketing team advised them to just go with Nexus 5 2015 or Nexus 5 2nd Gen as they have done for the new Nest Protect Thermostat, but it would be mighty cool to be able to tell my friends I just bought a “Nexus 5X.” No matter what the name turns out to be, we’re sure it’ll be one of the hottest smartphones to have once it’s available for purchase.
