There are certainly worse ways to blow $50. If you’ve been in the market for a smartwatch, but don’t need all the fluff and frills that come with most Android Wear devices these days, you might be able to score the original Pebble for only $50 at your local Target store. Some users on Reddit are reporting (with proof of purchase), that they were able to secure the watch for only half a bill in the south west Florida area.
The smartwatch — which offers up to 7 days on a single charge — is the perfect entry level wearable for those on the fence about how much convenience a smartwatch can offer them. Keep in mind the Pebble hasn’t exactly aged gracefully and only features a black and white e-Paper display. This is bare bones smartwatch material here, folks. On the bright side, the watch is compatible with both Android and iOS devices and will soon receive an update to the latest version of the OS (found on the newer but much more expensive Pebble Time) later this year.
We’d link you to the watch on Target, but this is one of those times when you’ll have to get up off your couch and check for yourself. If you don’t have any luck, you may want to try your local AT&T store where some people have been picking up the original Pebble for $40, and Pebble Steel for $75. Happy hunting!
