UPDATE: And just like that, Samsung has confirmed the 128GB option on their site was in error and does not exist. This sort of thing happens from time to time and hopefully nobody got their hopes up.
Earlier today, we gave you guys a full spec and feature rundown on the newly announced Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. We’re not sure why the discrepancy, but it seems Samsung can’t decide whether or not the Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus will actually come in a 128GB option. On one hand, their press release made no mention of this, capping out the devices at 64GB.
But as some of you pointed out in our comments (thanks, by the way), Samsung’s retail site is showing 128GB options for US carrier devices. A few possibilities: 128GB models will be in limited supply, of which the US could be one of the few offering it. That, or some wires got crossed and it’s just a typo on Samsung’s end. We wont know for certain until carriers begin listing available storage configurations, or Samsung — who we’ve reached out to for comment — mentions something before then. We’ll keep you posted.
