2016 Honda Accord will be the first with Android Auto support
Honda has announced that their 2016 Accord line will be the first to have support for Android Auto. It’ll be an option right next to Apple’s Carplay on that 7-inch display that the car comes pre-equipped with. This is true for all trims of both Coupe and Sedan models, too, so if you have a preference then it should be met with no failure.
Honda joins Audi, Volkswagen Hyundai and GM as some of the first manufacturers adding Android Auto by standard, with many more still planning to do the same.
Android Auto provides a vehicle-safe system for accessing tunes and radio, navigating to your destinations, searching up info, placing hands-free calls or sending messages. It can be manipulated completely by voice so you won’t have to take your hands off the steering wheel to do whatever it is you need to do.
This comes with all of Honda’s existing smart car features, such as rear-faced cameras for an easy look at what’s behind you. Honda’s new Accord line will arrive this August, and you’ll need a phone with Android 5.0 to take full advantage of Android Auto (though that shouldn’t be a difficult stipulation in this day and age).
