Dummy units and renders are cool and all, but there’s nothing like getting a good look at a phone in its actual skin. Thankfully that day has finally come for the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
Annnnd what do you know? They look like 2015 Samsung phones. The S6 Edge Plus, in particular, is indeed looking a bit bigger than the originals that launched earlier this year. It’ll come with an increased 5.7-inch display, but isn’t expected to have much more than that in terms of differentiation.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will don that nice S-Pen. Unfortunately there doesn’t appear to be any plans for Samsung to introduce an Edge variant of the Note 5, which is probably why the S6 Edge Plus exists.
This is a bit of an issue for those who wanted the dream combo of both an Edge display and an S-Pen, but perhaps there are some surprises up Samsung’s sleeve that we haven’t heard about yet.
Those surprises should come to light this August as the company is rumored to be revealing the devices a bit earlier than normal, with the latest rumors telling us that August 13th is a date to keep an eye on.
