Samsung was previously rumored to be pushing the Samsung Galaxy Note 5’s launch up to August to compete with the iPhone 6S, but one source seems to suggest that they’re doing more than just thinking about it. In fact, Samsung apparently has set a hard date for a reveal: August 13th. That’s the word from Business Korea, anyway, who has a solid reputation for legitimacy.
For what it’s worth, Phandroid’s own sources have tossed the August 13th date around as well, particularly in relation to the date it’ll go up for pre-sale at a major wireless carrier here in the United States. It would make sense that pre-sales would go up the same day the device is announced, so this is one date that you should be keeping a close eye on as the summer rages on.
Don’t forget that Samsung is also rumored to be introducing the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus at that same event, which is basically a bigger version of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Stay tuned!
