Motorola never mentioned they had plans to refresh the Moto Hint, but it seems they’ve gone ahead and done just that. A new SKU has appeared at Best Buy over the weekend, and this does appear to be replacing the original SKU as Best Buy is advertising the original at clearance. That particular unit is going for $135 (it was originally $150), while the new one costs $130.
Alongside a price tag difference, the Best Buy employee who spotted the new SKU noted that the new version boasts 17 hour battery life as opposed to the 10 hours on the original. We’re also getting a new wind-cancelling audio technology and Bluetooth 3.0 + EDR. Finally, Motorola improved the shape of the headset to fit more comfortably in your ears.
It looks like a familiar unit otherwise. We’re not sure why Motorola wouldn’t announce an improved SKU before sending it out to stores, but they did and you’ll want to make sure you’re grabbing the latest one if you happen to be in the market for one soon. Look for the following product numbers to ensure you’re on the right track:
And the packaging will also make mention of that 70% improvement in battery life, so look for that to be doubly sure. We’ll look to gather more details from either Best Buy or Motorola in the meantime.
