With their flagship One M9 device not performing quite as expected, HTC is ready to bring home the bacon by other means. Their next plan is to hit the US market with their new, more affordably priced Desire lineup. Launching in the coming weeks across just about every carrier in the states, the Desire 520, 526, 626, and 626s all offer a fair range of hardware on the cheap.
And here’s the HTC Desire 520
You wont be blown away by the specs, but that’s not the point. The Desire line is meant to offer beautiful polycarbonate designs, while staying easy on the wallet. All of them feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor, have 8MP cameras, come with micro SD card slots up to 2TB, carry 2,000mAh batteries, and run Android 5.1 Lollipop. Where they differ is in their displays, internal storage, and RAM. Here’s what we’re looking at:
HTC Desire 520 (exclusive to Cricket)
HTC Desire 526 (Verizon)
HTC Desire 626s (Sprint and T-Mobile)
HTC Desire 626 (AT&T and T-Mobile)
We know, for whatever reason, the “s” is somehow the lesser model so that’s something to keep in mind if you’re shopping around for a new prepaid phone. Expect to find all the above phones to arrive on various MVNOs and major prepaid networks in the coming weeks/months. Even if you’re not dying to pick one up, maybe you can help point a loved one in the right direction.
