The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are starting to receive upgrades to Android 5.1.1, making them up and running on the latest Android version in all the lands. It starts with T-Mobile’s model, though others shouldn’t be far behind.
Aside from a nice enhancement to performance and a few squashed bugs, the update will bring a couple of tweaks to the user experience. Of particular noteworthy mention is a more simplified exposure control in the Camera app, though we aren’t seeing reports of the other new camera features that were rumored to be included in this update.
Also new are a parallax effect for wallpaper, and the option to remove S Finder and Quick Connect buttons from the notification shade, a feature which we’re sure many will be glad to see. Samsung Kies has the goods right now if you want it. Otherwise you can wait for the OTA to hit your phone and pull it down that way. Be sure to grab it and let us know how it is!
