By now, we’ve been doing this Android thing long enough that we’ve seen all the drop tests we can stomach. Like some sick perversion, we need something a little more… extreme. Thankfully, the internet has no shortage of sadistic folks looking to destroy devices for our own personal amusement.
Enter the folks at Digiato, who thought it’d be fun to take a flame thrower to the recently released HTC One M9. Not as any kind of stress test, mind you (although that Snapdragon 810 can get pretty hot). This was done purely for kicks. We have to admit, watching the HTC One M9’s solid metal construction get doused with 700-degree blasts of fire was almost poetic.
Check out the video below to see all the mayhem for yourself.

More stupid videos of phone torture tests. Why? Just because?
How about phones smashed while skydiving. Maybe driven over by tanks. How about eaten by a shark. Or maybe, just maybe, thrown into a jet engine.
Ooo put a piece of meat on it and dangle it above a great white….air jaws vs “pick your phone ??”
Because it’s probably 700 degrees centigrade in the summer in Iran
Point….less.
Typical Phandroid signature tests.
One thing you didn’t know is that if you did that flame thrower test with the phone against your cheek, nothing will happen to the phone. At first it will burn just a little bit, but if you hold on for more than 5 minutes. Then a rare chemical reaction will occur which transform the Gorilla glass into diamond.
I know you’re saying this sh&t for the lulz but it’s not really that funny anymore.
It’s time I delete my bookmark & RSS from Phandroid. A phone site specialized in phone destruction has nothing useful for those who prefer a phone in working conditions.
good riddance
Why doing that…
By flamethrower you mean SD810?
An homage to David Letterman, perhaps (Will it float)?
We all float down here Kolio! . And when your down here…you’ll float too !
I feel like any time I watch a non-English language video there’s always trance music playing
I don’t think the torture tests are interesting or amusing anymore. Not that I ever did, really. Another slow news day, phandroid?
What’s the point?
The music in that video is god awful. I’m surprised I made it through the whole thing.
