Twitter while you were away

Previously iOS-only, Twitter’s ‘While you were away’ feature officially makes its way to Android

Last month we told you guys about a new feature rolling out on Twitter that gave users a recap of important tweets they may have missed while they were off doing other things on their phone (or you know, the real world). Dubbed “While you were away,” Twitter updated their original blog post to announce that the feature — which originally launched on iOS — is now officially live in the Twitter for Android app.

Apparently, Twitter highlights these tweets based on engagement and a variety of other unnamed factors, then rises them to the top of your feed when you open the app to ensure you won’t miss anything important. With this out of the way, perhaps now Twitter can get back to introducing features users really care about, like an edit button or improving their terrible image upload quality.

Should any of you frequent Twitter, feel free to follow myself (@Gamercore) and/or Phandroid (@Phandroid) for even more Android fun, randomness, and general hilarity. Cheers!
