Samsung Galaxy Note Edge begins receiving Android 5.0.1 Lollipop

Another day, another device receiving Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is next up in line. Samsung had already delivered the upgrade to Samsung Galaxy S5 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users, so it’s not surprising the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge wasn’t far behind.

The upgrade is headed to folks in Australia first, though if Samsung’s other rollouts are any indication then it won’t take long to make its way to users in other countries. You’ll be expecting a file size of about 1.02GB large. That’s hefty so you’ll want to make sure you’re on WiFi with a comfortably charged battery before attempting to pull it down.

Samsung notes that the update requires about 3GB of space to be free, so try to delete some unwanted files and uninstall unwanted apps if you don’t have enough. They also note that the update will eat up an extra 950 megabytes of overall storage. That’s especially sucky for those who are already struggling to find space.

But by the end of it all you’ll have Android 5.0 Lollipop with TouchWiz on top, and we’d say that’s worth the cost of admission.
