Toronto Raptors v Atlanta Hawks

NBA filmed yesterday’s All-Star game using virtual reality cameras for viewing on Samsung’s Gear VR

In case you’re not a basketball fan, we’d like to inform you that there was an NBA All-Star game on yesterday. It’s the game where the NBA’s best come together to showcase their skills and be recognized for their greatness.

Whether you like basketball or not, if you have a pair of Samsung Gear VR and a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 you might find it cool that the NBA hired BigLook360 to shoot footage in a perspective fit for virtual reality. Their intention is to make footage of the weekend’s event — including the All-Star game, the dunk contest and the 3-point shootout, available on Samsung’s Milk VR app.

You won’t be able to digest the entirety of the event from this unique perspective, but you will at least get all the highlights as if you were courts ide yourself. Not a bad way to check the game out if you weren’t able to pay for airfare, lodging and thousands of dollars for an actual seat at the arena. There’s no hard ETA on the content’s arrival, though it’s said everything will be available in just a few short weeks.
