Two great phones on two great carriers will be getting big upgrades today. First up is AT&T’s LG G3, which is now receiving Android 5.0 Lollipop. Aside from your standard Lollipop experience, AT&T and LG thought it was to take out the old setup wizard. There are also your typical stability improvements.
T-Mobile’s HTC One M8 is also getting its Lollipop upgrade today. It’ll be infused with Sense, naturally, though HTC’s implementation of certain things like notifications and recent apps take their cue from standard AOSP Lollipop. They’ve also added a search function within settings to make it easier to fund stuff. Otherwise, you can expect HTC to update their standard apps with Material Design and provide an overall familiar user experience.
For the AT&T LG G3, it’s available over-the-air with WiFi on, and you’ll just head to Settings > General > About Phone > Software Update to check for it. You’ll be looking for version LRX21Y.
T-Mobile HTC One M8 users can expect the same rollout conditions, and the version number will be 4.20.531.4. You’re able to upgrade from any official firmware their HTC One M8 has ever received, so long as you aren’t rooted or using a custom ROM.
