Lumoid lets you try on smart watches and fitness bands before you commit to buying one

An interesting new service has launched that could make it easier for you to determine which wearable is right for you. Its name is Lumoid, and they’ll ship you have 5 wearables — be it a smart watch, a fitness tracker or what have you — to try for 7 days.

It’s not free, but if you are truly looking to purchase a smart watch they will waive the rental price of $20 if you purchase one of them through their service. Should you decide you aren’t really comfortable with any of them? Well, it’s only $20, and it’s better to lose that than to spend possibly hundreds on something you aren’t totally satisfied with.

The service is mostly limited to fitness trackers and sleep tracker bands right now, though there are a smattering of smart watches available. Of noteworthy mention in that category is the Pebble. For fitness and sleep trackers, the Samsung Gear Fit, Fitbit Flex, Jawbone Up24 and Nike + FuelBand are among the most popular available.

Notably missing are Android Wear smart watches, though it’s possible they’ll look to add many more products over time (we’ve reached out for comment to see if they have any more they’ll look to add to the list in the near future). Keep this site in mind the next time you’re in the market for something smart to slap onto your wrist.
