Boost Mobile introduces the ZTE Speed, a $99 off-contract Android phone

Boost Mobile has announced the ZTE Speed, a new $99 Android phone for folks that don’t like doing business with contract carriers. That wad of bills will get you a full-fledged 1.2GHz quad-core Android phone with a 4.6-inch display, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage (expandable up to 32GB), a 5 megapixel rear camera, a 2 megapixel front camera, 2,000mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.0, 4G LTE and more. It runs KitKat out of the box. It’s not Lollipop, sure, but it could be worse.

This isn’t the best Android phone you can find, even at its price point of $99, but if you’re on Boost and the options are slim then this has to be one to consider. The device is compatible with Boost’s $35 per month unlimited talk, text and 1GB of high sped data plan (and naturally everything above it) so the only decision you have to make is whether you want the thing. Head here to order one if you’re interested.
