We’re just a couple of hours away from Samsung’s event at IFA, but that hasn’t stopped the leaks. If you want to be surprised while watching the event consider this your spoiler alert. An image of two new handsets has popped up. It shows the expected Note 4, but also a device with a curved display called the Galaxy Note Edge. We’ve heard about a device with this name in the past, but this is our first look at it.
From the image we can see that the Edge is the same size as the Galaxy Note 4. The display also seems to be similarly sized (maybe slightly smaller), but the right side curves back around the edge. This space appears to be used for notifications. It’s hard to tell if the display wraps around both edges or just the right side. We’ll have to wait and see what Samsung can do with this extra screen real estate. Devices like this have been full of gimmicks in the past. Will the Note Edge change that?

Reminds me of the phone Samsung had at CES almost 2 years ago.
I remember that. It was show right before their curved display. The galaxy round I believe.
Oh wow, they took a photoshopper’s concept for the iPhone 6 and beat Apple to the punch. Kinda cool actually.
Are you serious?
Mmm…yes?

Sorry if this idea existed before, the iPhone concept was the first time I had seen it.
Ever heard of YOUM? Samsung showed off a concept phone sometime in Jan 2013 (it has been announced way earlier) with the same design as the Note 4 Edge. Here’s a video:

No, I just jumped ship from iOS in June. Been out of the loop.
I loved the design of the LG G Flex, but I don’t get the design of this Samsung at all. I guess I’ll have to wait and see when it’s official.
They might as well stack this up on the shelf next to the galaxy mega and that other thing that was more camera than phone.
Anyone remember the Galaxy Continuum? I think it was a US -variant of the S2. Another ticker but hell of a lot better
