PSA: Google+ video Hangouts experiencing some issues right now
If you’re having trouble connecting to a Hangouts video call on Google+ this morning you’re not alone. After a few reports on Google+ from people having issues connecting to Hangouts, Google has updated their Apps Status Dashboard to officially confirm a widespread issue.
Google didn’t go into technical detail about what was wrong, with the company only stating that it was an issue affecting a “significant subset” of Hangouts users. Attempting to start a Hangout simply fails with little reason or rhyme.
Google says they’ve identified an issue and were hopeful to have a fix out by 12:30pm Eastern, but that time has come and go without an update. That’s not too surprising considering they always warn us that estimates are subject to change, but that’s all we know at this point.
