LG G Pad 10.1 now available
Today LG has announced the global availability of its G Pad 10.1, the largest member of a the Korean company’s revamped G Pad lineup announced earlier this year. The news follows the release of the LG G Pad 7.0 last week. The G Pad 10.1 will first be available in the United States before making its way to Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
Much like the 7-inch version, the G Pad 10.1 doesn’t feature the most compelling compliment of specs ever seen on an Android tablet. This includes a display with a resolution just north of HD (1280 x 800), quad-core Snapdragon processing, and 1GB RAM. What does add to the tablets appeal is the inclusion of several features that debuted on the stellar LG G3 smartphone — a refined user interface, Knock Code security, and dual window multitasking, to name a few.
Specific pricing was not initially announced by LG, but that should be following along shortly when we catch wind of retailer plans for the various regions where the tablet will be available. Given the specs (and the G Pad 7.0’s $150 price tag), we’d put money on the G Pad 10.1 launching in the affordable range of $200-300. LG has yet to release word on the pricing and availability of their remaining tablet model, the G Pad 8.0.
