Samsung Gear Fit teardown is an x-ray of Samsung’s smallest smartwatch yet
If you haven’t been drowned by the tidal wave of teardowns as of late and you are planning to buy the newly-launched Samsung Gear Fit, you might be interested in the result of iFixIt’s latest tinkering. The Gear Fit was stripped down to its core, giving us a look at how Samsung was able to pack all of that computing goodness inside a small strip.
The good news is that battery replacement should be as easy as one, two, three for those who aren’t afraid enough to do that themselves. The display can also be replaced with a bit of careful work. Unfortunately that’s as far as the device goes.
There’s little modularity to be had, with components being soldered to the motherboard. This is typical of any device this small, though, so we can’t say that comes as a surprise.
