AT&T has opened preorders for the Samsung Galaxy S5, offering the device for as low as $0 down when purchased as part of a Next installment plan. The carrier will begin shipping the new Android flagship on April 8th.
The GS5 is also available at a traditional two-year contract pricing, retailing for $199 when signing a new agreement. Going this route offers additional benefits, including the waving of the phone’s $36 activation fee. Customers taking advantage of the pre-order are also eligible for a $100 statement credit, part of a deal that AT&T is offering through the end of the month.
Also up for preorder today are Samsung’s new Gear smart watches, including the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, and Gear Fit. The Gear 2 retails for $299, while the Neo and Fit both retail for $199. All three devices also ship April 8th. Customers purchasing both a Gear 2 or Gear 2 Neo and a Galaxy S5 by June 5th are eligible for a $50 rebate.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 and new line of Gear smart watches were unveiled last month at Mobile World Congress. The devices are expected to arrive for all carriers in April. Other carriers offering preorder opportunities include T-Mobile, who will kick off their pre-sale on March 24th.
