Verizon’s Galaxy S4 is currently receiving a relatively minor update to address compatibility with 3rd party chargers (as well as other smaller fixes). Samsung devices have been notorious for charging slower when using 3rd party chargers regardless of amperage, but new software build VRUEMK2 looks to fix that.
Other “key device enhancements” include better email connectivity, and a more consistent data connection when roaming in Canada or Mexico, and when using proxy servers. Weighing in at a hefty 329.5MB, we can’t help but wonder if there were other changes made under the hood. If you haven’t been prompted yet, you can try and pull the update yourself by jumping into your Settings > About Phone > System Updates.

It’s like USB Fast Charge. That usually fixed the problem for me. But it’s cool that Samsung is doing this.
All the spare non-Samsung-yet-still-official chargers I have.
Do Any of the other carrier branded phones have this yet?
Will this brewak root?
Hopefully this will fix the issue of charging slowly even with the official charger on occasion… But that’s a big update for a small change.
Since the update took my first call and the screen turned off an wouldn’t come back on I had to pull the battery eventually to reset it after none of the buttons were responding. not sure if its related to the update but my phone has never done this befor
The update crashed my phone…
