It’s tough out there for app makers. With over a million applications available in the Google Play Store (it’s true), sometimes you just get lost in the mix. Take Flud, a social news reader that allowed users to follow and share news around the web with others.
Flud’s founder, designer, and CEO Bobby Ghoshal sent out an email today announcing the shutting down of the application and service which garnered between 50,000 – 100,000 app installs on the Play Store, 5-star reviews from 472 users, and over 2,000 +1’s on Google+. Needless to say, it appears to have had a following.
Moving forward, Goshal says that they’ll be selling off Flud’s technology and IP and for users who’d like to download all their data, can start by jumping on www.flud.it before the service officially goes dark on August 8th.
