I’d be lying if I said I’ve never tried my luck at a dating website or 2 back in my youth. Oh, the stories I could tell of Plenty of Fish dates gone awry, but I digress. Today, my ears perked at the news of an all new dating service making its way to the Google Play Store by name of Tinder. Unlike the countless dating websites you can find on every corner of the net, Tinder is a dating/flirting app strictly for mobile users and offers a unique twist.
Simply sign into the app with your Facebook account (mandatory) and using the intuitively designed app, you’re immediately thrown into the world of online dating flirting. You wont have to go hunting for potential suitors using Tinder. Every time the app is opened you’re presented with the single profile image of a local hottie in your area. Like those “hot or not” websites, you begin the process of wading through potential mates by clicking either “pass” or “like” on those you find attractive/interesting/easy. There’s no commitment. Whether you like or pass on a profile, it’s gone forever, with no way to return to a profile you found appealing. Kinda strange, it’s this unique take on online dating that makes the app so different.
The only way to connect with anyone is if they happened across your profile and “liked” yours as well. Mutual likes will create a match and it’s only then you can attempt to contact your new found love interest by initiating a chat or scheduling a meetup. The app features the usual settings for adjusting age and distance requirements, as well as quickly deleting your Tinder account.
If you feel like giving it a shot (hey, I wont judge), you can find Tinder for free right now on the Google Play Store. Keep in mind Tinder is also available on iOS so there’s a good chance a potential love match could an iPhone toting iFan. Who knows, you might even hook up with former Miss USA while you’re on there. Go get ’em, slugger.
