Chrome for Android update brings translation bar
Google has issued a ice new upgrade to the stable channel for Google Chrome for Android. The upgrade attempt to knock down more of the language barrier as a new translation bar will show up automatically when viewing a page that’s not in your default language, similar to what we have in the desktop version of the browser now. Google says there’s also better support for right-to-left languages.
Beyond that, Chrome for Android tablets now support full-screen mode, and Google has introduced an experimental data compression service that will compress images and other page elements to allow you to load pages faster and use less bandwidth. It’s not unlike the Turbo feature found in the Finnish Opera browser.
This update can be had for free in the Google Play Store. Grab it over there, and give the translation features a try by giving it a spin with your favorite foreign website.
