Samsung announces three new Galaxy Tab 3 devices go on sale July 7th starting at $200

Samsung has announced that its latest three additions to the Galaxy Tab 3 family will go on sale in the US starting July 7th. The device will come in 7-inch, 8-inch and 10.1-inch flavors, which all offer similar specs (though not exactly identical). The 7-inch variant will boast 1024×600 resolution, 8GB of internal storage, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a front-facing camera, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and more, and will be coming to you for $200.

Taking things up a notch, the 8-inch variant bumps us up to HD resolution with 1,280 pixels wide by 800 pixels tall. The processor has also gotten a bit of a boost, with a 1.5GHz dual-core chip powering this tablet. Other specs include 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 5 megapixel rear camera, a front-facing camera, and will be launching with Android 4.2 for $300.

Finally, the 10.1-inch variant is unsurprisingly the most powerful, with a 1.6GHz dual-core processor sitting inside. It, too, has 1280 x 800 resolution — that’s a tad disappointing, though with Samsung looking to keep costs down we understand why they might not have wanted to opt for the full HD experience. The device also has 16GB of internal storage, a 5 megapixel camera, and 1GB of RAM (a bit odd, all things considered). This tablet is being priced at $400.

I can’t say this is the most impressive suite of devices for the price. Google does have a bit of an unfair advantage being able to subsidized their devices to make it easier on the end user, but it’s hard to pass up the Nexus offerings when they offer so much more bang for around the same buck. Regardless, Samsung wants to make sure it positions itself well in the tablet space with affordable devices, and these are the ones carrying the that torch.

Pre-sales for all three devices begin tomorrow, and they launch July 7th at the likes of Best Buy/Best Buy Mobile, Amazon, Wal-Mart, h.h. Gregg, Office Depot, Toys ‘R’ Us, P.C. Richard & Son, Fry’s, Newegg, and series Sears, as well as over at Samsung.com. Are you buying?
