AT&T ZTE Mustang and ZTE Sprint Vital leaked press shots emerge

Looks like ZTE has a pair of Androids headed to both AT&T and Sprint in the coming weeks. Our friend at @evleaks has just uncovered a device called the ZTE Mustang, complete with AT&T branding. Not much else is known on the device and while specs weren’t given, we were hoping this could be the US version of the high-end ZTE Grand S — the world’s thinnest 5-inch smartphone — shown off at CES a few months back (although that bezel has us more than doubting).

The other device, leaked by Engadget, was formerly known as the “ZTE Quantum,” but has undergone a name change before its release (as ZTE devices typically do with Sprint). Drop the “ZTE” and say hello to the Sprint Vital. The phone wont exactly wow you on specs, with internals close to that of the ZTE Grand Memo we saw back at MWC.

The Sprint Vital is packing a 5-inch 720p display, dual-core S4 processor, 1GB of RAM, 13MP camera, 8GB of internal with micro SD card slot, NFC, 2,500mAh battery, and finally, all running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The benefit with the Vital is unlike what was pictured on the ZTE Mustang, this one seems to be running a mostly stock Android experience. We’re hoping that with a mish-mash of high and low-end specs, the price will be more in the affordable range once it’s officially announced for Sprint. Full promo video for the Vital can be found here.

Slowly but surely, ZTE seems to be holding true to their word and making a bigger focus to target the US market. While mid-range riff raff might not sound like the best way to do it, it could be a start.
