HTC Desire 600 officially announced

It didn’t take long for the HTC One to be flanked by other options from the Taiwanese company in 2013. HTC has officially unveiled the HTC Desire 600 that was rumored only just recently. This device isn’t quite the bee’s knees when put up against the HTC One, but depending on the price tag it could be a decent option.

The specs include a 4.5-inch SuperLCD 2 display with qHD resolution, Qualcomm’s 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor, an 8 megapixel rear camera that can shoot 720p video(doesn’t appear to be UltraPixel) accompanied by a 1.6 megapixel front camera, HTC BoomSound (the speaker grills are the areas accented in red you see in the photo above), and more. HTC’s Desire 600 will include the latest version of Sense, with BlinkFeed reprising its role here.

HTC wasn’t hesitant on knocking the phone a peg down itself, noting in the press release that this is a phone aimed squarely for the mid-range market. Indeed, its dual-SIM capabilities and the initial launch markets of Russia, Ukraine, and several MEA territories are the only markets confirmed to be receiving it at this time (June 2013, in case you care).

With that, the HTC One still takes center stage in HTC’s lineup when you’re talking about full-on performance and features, but depending on price the HTC Desire 600 should prove to be a solid offering for anyone not looking to break the bank.
