Sprint site tips LG Optimus G Pro

When AT&T originally announced it would be carrying the LG Optimus G Pro the carrier mentioned that it was an exclusive dealio. Exclusive doesn’t really mean exclusive anymore, of course — it’s more like a timed exclusive. Akin to what happened with Verizon getting the Galaxy Nexus months ahead of everyone else, it looks like Sprint might eventually be carrying the LG Optimus G Pro.

That information surfaced in a user agent profile that has appeared on Sprint’s site. It wouldn’t be the first time a carrier or OEM’s site accidentally spilled the beans about devices which don’t officially exist yet. This particular handset is showing a Sprint model number of LS980 (AT&T’s is E980) but some weird discrepancies exist. The biggest difference this UA profile mentions is a Snapdragon 800 processor. The LG Optimus G Pro is only known to have a Snapdragon 600 chipset.

Either Sprint’s getting themselves an extra special “sorry for going to AT&T first” consolation prize from LG, or this isn’t quite an Optimus G Pro. Either way, we know Sprint users will be more than excited to hear the news. The only questions now are when and how much, but if it’s an Optimus G Pro we imagine AT&T will have at least a month or two of personal time with it before others can take a swing.
