Verizon is one of the only big carriers in America who have yet to give us a release date for the Samsung Galaxy S4. The company announced the phone would be here in May, but wasn’t interested in giving us a more pointed release date than that. For the record, the latest rumor pegs May 30th as the landing date, but anything is possible at this point.
It definitely feels like we’re nearing a launch as Big Red has finally pushed its Samsung Galaxy S4 sign-up page live. You can submit your email address to be notified when the product is available, though past experience tells me you might not want to rely solely. Carriers tend to send these notification emails out in groups, with some people not seeing them until days after a phone has actually launched.
For that reason, you’ll definitely want to stay tuned to Phandroid to make sure you’re “in the know” in regards to the latest. That said, Best Buy is offering Verizon customers a little more than a promise that they’ll email you — the retailer is actually taking pre-sales for the device. We don’t have any pricing yet, but past launches tell us to expect a $200-250 price on-contract, and Best Buy’s super special $800 off-contract. You won’t have to put all of that down at the time of the pre-sale, though, as a unit can be secured for just $50.
The only catch is you have to go into a Best Buy store with Best Buy Mobile, or a Best Buy Mobile standalone store, in order to pre-order one. Be sure to call your local Best Buy to confirm and head down there whenever you’re willing to sign another two years of your life away (or shell out a whopping $800 to keep the temporary wedding ring off your finger).
