Motorola DROID Bionic gets revived with official Jelly Bean rollout
Verizon’s update spree as of late has been a very refreshing change of pace, but some Motorola DROID Bionic users were beginning to feel like their devices might not ever receive the same love that the latest heavy hitters from the DROID line have. After all, the device’s botched launch and early documented issues didn’t give us confidence that the device was still a priority for Verizon and Motorola.
We’re glad to be wrong, though, as Verizon has officially began rollout of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to the DROID Bionic. The upgrade will bring users many new features such as Google Now, a smoother OS experience with Project Butter, new security features, expandable notifications, and a lot more. A couple of bloatware apps have been removed, and data connectivity has also been improved with this update.
All those changes sound as nice as any update the Bionic has ever gotten so if you’re still holding onto the device after all this time you’re about to be rewarded for your patience. Be sure to find it by hitting the Settings > About Phone menu of your device to get started (and don’t forget to jump on WiFi with at least 30-50% of battery life before proceeding.
