Rumor: Samsung to introduce Galaxy Mega line with 5.8 and 6.2-inch handsets
Samsung is rumored to be on the verge of launching a new phablet lineup to compliment their Galaxy S and Galaxy Note offerings (pictured above). Said to be dubbed Galaxy Mega, two device could drop later this year with model number GT-I9152 and GT-I9200. The former would feature a 5.8-inch display. The latter, a 6.3-inch screen.
The 6.3-inch screen size was once rumored for the Galaxy Note 3, though more recent speculation says it could sport a 5.9-inch ‘unbreakable’ display. But talk of the 6.3-inch display size has persisted, especially after it was revealed that Samsung’s new gamepad peripheral will support devices up to that size.
The Samsung Galaxy Mega line is expected to sport middle-of-the-road hardware. They won’t be Exynos Octa 8 powerhouses like the Galaxy S4, but we’re guessing they will feature similar software enhancements. The Galaxy Mega 5.8 is rumored to launch toward the end of May, while the Galaxy Mega 6.3 could hit retailers at the end of June.
