We’ve just received an invite to a Facebook event on April 4th that says “Come See Our New Home on Android”. What exactly does Facebook’s “New Home on Android” mean? We’ve got no clue, but we’ll find out in due time:
Could it be a new app? Could it be a Facebook phone? We don’t really know, but according to Mercury News, Facebook means “Home” quite literally: they’ve gained permission to build a second campus near their current headquarters that should house Android app development among other initiatives.
Exactly why Facebook would host a press event to show off their new building, I’m not exactly sure. It has me wondering if there are perhaps other announcements coinciding with this new home. I could venture a guess, but either way, we’ll be on site to see whatever Android goodness Zuck and his team are bringing to our favorite mobile platform.
