Purported render of the Motorola X Phone comes with new spec rumors

As Google I/O inches closer along with the potential unveiling of Motorola’s first smartphone designed under Google’s direction, the floodgates are opening when it comes to the rumored X Phone. Today we get a leaked render purported to be the handset along with a new take on the phone’s specs.

The look of the phone pictured here is a drastic departure from recent Motorola designs. The standard black bezel has given way to a metallic finish flanking the top and bottom of an edge-to-edge screen. It’s probably safe to assume that this model does away with the Kevlar construction of recent RAZR handsets. The OS, which is said to be Android 4.2, looks more stock than ever.

Specs accompanying this take on the handset include a Sanpdragon 800 CPU, 4.7-inch 720p display, and a massive 4000mAh battery (which would pretty much take the cake in terms of battery life). For fans of removable storage, the latest buzz points to no microSD card slot. There is also talk of IP57 certification for water resistance and a Gorilla Glass 3 screen.

Of course, the render could be a fake (more than likely fake, in fact), the specs a mere stab in the dark. But if this is the X Phone we are looking at, what is the general consensus? Yay or nay?
