Lenovo S920 official, coming with Android 4.2 and a quad-core processor

Lenovo’s getting ready to launch a flagship competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 as the company has officially anounced the S920. The device, which has been listed at Lenovo’s Chinese store, is now confirmed to be launching with Android 4.2 at the helm. There are only a few different devices on the horizon confirmed to be coming with the latest version of Android so we’re always happy to see more added into the mix.

We can also confirm that the device will now come with a quad-core processor. The chipset isn’t the most exciting — it’s MediaTek’s MT6589 clocked at 1.2GHz — but there it is anyway. Other specs will include a 5.3-inch 1280×720 display, 1GB of RAM, a 8 megapixel rear camera, a 2 megapixel front camera, a 2,250mAh battery, a microSD card slot and more. It doesn’t send the Richter scale off the charts, but for Lenovo it’s a decent try for 2013.

Lenovo isn’t really keen on dabbling outside key Asian markets so unless you live in that part of the world I wouldn’t get my hopes up for an eventual release. There’s no price just yet, but we’ll be on the lookout for those details in the days to come.
